Red Ribbon Week began after the kidnapping, torture and brutal murder of drug enforcement administration. Red ribbon Week is the largest drug prevention campaign in the nation. It was instituted in 1988 with President and and Mrs. Reagan serving as honorary chairpersons for Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon, is traditionally celebrated during the last 2 weeks of October with October 23rd 31st being the offical red ribbon week.
